An edited file can look similar on a map while containing different times, points or recorded fields. Compare places two supported FIT, GPX or TCX files side by side and summarizes the available differences in a neutral report. It is useful after an export or correction and when two versions of a ride disagree. The comparison describes the files; it does not declare that a preferred statistic is the true measurement.

Questions about this tool
Can I compare a FIT original with a GPX conversion?
Supported files can be compared, but their formats may represent information differently. Review preservation limits as well as displayed differences; a missing FIT-only field in GPX is not necessarily a processing error.
Does a comparison verify that a ride really happened?
No. It reports differences between the supplied files. It does not authenticate an activity, certify sensor accuracy or determine which recording is physically correct.
