Check the profile, not only the climbing total.
GPS altitude noise, barometric drift or a misplaced height reference can distort a recorded elevation profile. This tool offers terrain matching and supported manual altitude edits for FIT and GPX recordings. Compare the original and corrected profiles, inspect available D+ and D− estimates, and choose smoothing deliberately. The useful question is whether the profile makes sense for the route, rather than whether one final number matches another platform.
Accepted formats: FIT · GPXHow to use this tool
- Open a supported recording and compare its available positions and heights.
- Choose terrain matching or a manual edit, then review the profile and smoothing setting.
- Preview the new heights and climbing estimates before downloading the verified file.
Questions about this tool
Can I correct elevation in FIT without converting to GPX?
Yes, when the FIT encoding supports the elevation operation. Open the original FIT and use the available correction mode. Keep the source so you can compare its recorded profile with any terrain-based estimate.
Will corrected elevation make Strava show the same D+?
That is not guaranteed. Platforms may use different heights, smoothing and thresholds or recalculate after import. KADALTO distinguishes profile-based gain from stored device totals and does not tune a profile merely to force a chosen number.
